Confidential Employer in Long Island, NY, a respected defense firm, seeks an attorney to handle insurance defense and civil litigation from inception through resolution, with a hybrid schedule.

Must have NY bar, 2+ years of litigation experience, and at least 1 year in defense negligence or insurance defense. You will manage discovery, depositions, motions, and case strategy while collaborating with senior attorneys.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Active New York bar admission in good standing.
• Experience with discovery, legal research, and motion practice.
• Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Manage discovery, including document review and discovery-related motions.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and litigation risks and assist with developing case strategy.
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate case files, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and the broader legal team.
