Job summary

Swoop Technologies is hiring for a hybrid DevOps/Platform engineer in Minneapolis–St. Paul. You will package and automate our Platform (Linux, Kubernetes) for bare metal and cloud deployments, develop CI pipelines, and assist developers with Linux and Kubernetes issues. You’ll also manage CI resources and support deployment engineers.

The role requires strong scripting, virtualization, and automation skills, with a focus on security and reliability in air-gap or connected environments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Bash/shell and Python scripting.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization with Docker.
• Strong automation mindset and willingness to automate processes.
• Extensive experience with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, RHEL).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Proxmox, KVM).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (GitLab).
• Familiar with backup, snapshots, and failover procedures.

Responsibilities

• Package and automate the Platform (Linux/Kubernetes) for bare metal and cloud deployments.
• Develop CI pipelines and test automation for Platform software deployment.
• Assist developers with Linux and Kubernetes issues.
• Assist deployment engineers with Platform issues.
• Manage and monitor CI resources running the Platform and test automation.
