Job summary

Chisholm Consulting, LLC is seeking a General Counsel for a mission-driven nonprofit in the DC area. The role is hybrid with in-office work 2–3 days weekly and involves advising senior leadership on governance, compliance, and risk management across the organization and affiliates.

The GC will oversee litigation strategy, contracts, privacy, and regulatory matters, including labor and employment issues and union relations. A J.D.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and at least 8 years of legal experience in relevant areas.
• Active membership in good standing with the Maryland State Bar.
• Significant nonprofit, labor and employment, governance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization’s primary in-house legal adviser on governance, operations, and strategy.
• Lead and coordinate with external counsel for pro bono and industry-specific matters.
• Oversee risk management, compliance programs, and policy development across departments.
