Job summary

The Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) at the University of Alaska seeks a Human Resources Coordinator to provide day-to-day HR support, guidance, and resource connections. This hybrid/onsite role resides on the UAF or UAA campuses with four days on campus and one day remote when approved, and is placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78.

Responsibilities include HR and payroll tasks, recruitment support, policy interpretation, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, plus two years of HR-related experience.
• Ability to work on site as part of a team.
• Strong policy interpretation and training pursuit.
• Working knowledge of payroll, accounting, and HR systems.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to employees by answering questions, offering guidance, and connecting them with appropriate resources.
• Manage specialized HR and payroll functions while applying University, federal, and state regulations.
• Coordinate and support recruitment activities, including advertising, screening, evaluation, and referrals.
• Analyze and resolve complex personnel issues.
• Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
