Job summary

Altius Search Group is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join our established Portland, Oregon practice in a hybrid role. You will advise multiple clients, develop practical HR solutions, and partner with business owners and HR leaders to align people strategies with business goals.

This hands-on role blends strategic guidance with execution across employee relations, performance management, policy development, onboarding, compensation frameworks, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on HR experience.
• Roles include HR Manager, HR Business Partner, HR Director, Senior HR Generalist, or HR Consultant.
• Broad knowledge of the employee lifecycle including relations, performance, leaves, policies and compliance.
• Experience supporting employees in multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Meet with business owners and HR leaders to evaluate HR operations, set priorities and plan projects.
• Advise on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, investigations, leaves and terminations.
• Develop and implement handbooks, policies, onboarding, compensation frameworks and compliance practices.
• Coach managers through sensitive employee situations and business challenges.
• Balance strategic consulting with day-to-day HR administration and implementation.
• Coordinate with recruiting, training and background screening to support clients.
• Manage client relationships, deadlines and billable-hour expectations.
• Participate in networking events and knowledge sharing within the team.
