Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Slingshot HPC team. The role is designed as hybrid, with an expectation to work from an HPE office about 2 days per week.

You will install and update hardware and software, monitor uptime, and support silicon validation across development systems. Responsibilities include debugging issues, collaborating with ASIC, hardware, and software teams, building node images, and maintaining system status reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 4-6 years experience as a system and/or network administrator and lab technician.

Responsibilities

• Debug and fix prototype and Slingshot system issues as they occur to maximize uptime.
• Work closely with Slingshot ASIC, hardware (PC board), and software teams to enable silicon validation and bring-up testing.
• Maintain daily updates of development software stack on systems.
• Maintain and improve existing system status reporting infrastructure.
• Help debug system issues to isolate root cause of failures.
• Build compute node images with latest OS versions and software stack updates.
• Help administer compute cluster for system validation team.
• Collaborates and communicates with management and internal partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
