Abdo LLP is seeking an Associate to join the Governmental Financial Solutions team in a hybrid work environment. You will manage local government client engagements, delivering specialized accounting, consulting, and financial services to improve efficiency and address regulatory challenges.

The ideal candidate has a BA in Accounting, CPA (or pursuing), experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, and software like Sage Intacct and QuickBooks, with preference for government experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA or pursuing CPA certification preferred.
• Experience processing AP, AR, and reconciliations.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience in a government environment is a plus.
• Grant funding experience is a plus.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients on-site, by phone, or email to obtain accurate information.
• Process and post day-to-day accounting transactions.
• Perform period-end closes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and internal management reports.
• Provide customized dashboards, metrics, and analytical reporting.
• Assist with budgeting and long-term planning for clients.
• Support year-end close and audit work papers.
• Contribute to process evaluations and special analyses.
• Maintain financial data and records per guidelines and regulations.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns.
• Support client audits with documentation.
