Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an experienced government contracts attorney to join our Washington, DC area team in a hybrid role. You will lead bid protests before the GAO and other forums and advise clients on federal procurement laws and compliance.

You will draft and negotiate teaming and subcontract agreements, handle CDA claims and procurement disputes, and guide risk management strategies. The position offers a collaborative, mentoring culture with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active DC Bar admission or eligibility for prompt DC admission.
• 3+ years of government contracts law experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling bid protests for government contractors.
• Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities.
• Experience with CDA claims, FAR compliance, teaming agreements, or procurement investigations preferred.
• Experience advising on federal small business programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent government contractors in bid protests before the GAO, Court of Federal Claims, and other forums.
• Advise clients on federal procurement laws, regulations, and compliance matters.
• Handle requests for equitable adjustment, Contract Disputes Act claims, and contract performance issues.
• Draft and negotiate teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, and related government contracts documents.
• Counsel clients on FAR compliance, procurement regulations, and risk management strategies.
• Assist with investigations involving procurement matters and the False Claims Act.
• Advise clients on federal small business programs, including 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, and HUBZone issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm to provide strategic legal solutions for government contractors.
