Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Accountant to support project setup, billing, and accounts receivable within our Corporate Finance team. The role covers domestic and international projects with a hybrid work arrangement in downtown Chicago and remote work from home.

You will work with Costpoint on multi-currency billing, inter-company activities, and ensure accuracy of bills and backups for Manager approval. Strong Excel/Acrobat skills and knowledge of Workday are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree with 3+ years in project cost accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience in project accounting.
• Experience with Workday is required.
• Strong MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills.
• Excellent data entry and detail-oriented team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up customers, projects, contracts, and inter-company billing in Costpoint for domestic and international projects.
• Handle multi-currency billing, foreign taxes, withholding, and retention.
• Assist with monthly Inter-Company billing processing.
• Maintain accurate bill preparation and ensure alignment with client billing arrangements and system records.
• Prepare invoice packages for Project Managers and submit to clients per contract terms.
• Maintain project invoice/billing files and supporting documents; perform project close out and reconciliations.
• Reconcile Open Billing Detail to General Ledger and research discrepancies.
• Perform additional billing duties as assigned.
