Job summary

MLabs is seeking a Software Engineer (Generalist) in New York City with hybrid/onsite options. You’ll own features end-to-end across the stack—from frontend UI/UX to backend services and database schemas—and help shape technical architecture as we scale.

Qualifications

3+ years professional software engineering across backend and frontend.
Fluency in modern languages and a track record of learning new technologies quickly.
Product-minded and pragmatic, prioritizing delivering value over tech dogmatism.
Strong ownership, delivering complex features to production with minimal supervision.
Based in or willing to relocate to the SF Bay Area for in-office days.

Responsibilities

End-to-End Ownership: Design, build, test, and deploy features across entire stack—from frontend UI/UX to backend services and database schemas.
Problem Solve Across the Stack: Build API, optimize SQL queries, or set up deployment pipelines as needed.
Product Collaboration: Work with designers, founders, and engineers to turn ideas into production-ready software.
Architect for Scale: Maintain clean abstractions, write maintainable code, and ensure system reliability as users grow.
