Job summary

Matlen Silver seeks a Java Developer for a 12-18 month contract in Charlotte, NC. Hybrid role with three days onsite per week. Local candidates only; onsite interview required.

Rate is $60-65/hour W2. The candidate will design, develop, and support scalable backend systems using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices. Expect work with SQL/Oracle and NoSQL, Kafka, and CI/CD (Jenkins); Kubernetes/OpenShift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java 11/17+
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices
• Experience designing, developing and supporting scalable backend systems
• Strong understanding of SQL/Oracle and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift, containers, and CI/CD (Jenkins)
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, optimize and resolve production issues
• Proven ability to take technical ownership and drive projects end-to-end
• Comfortable using AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot
• Strong communication and ability to lead technical discussions
• Banking experience not required; open to any industry
