Job summary

Confiz is seeking an Engineer 2 – Full Stack to join our Seattle-based team. You will build and maintain modern, scalable event-driven systems across microservices using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Kafka, React.js, and AWS in a hybrid environment.

Expect collaboration across distributed teams, emphasis on reliability, performance, and secure coding practices, with onsite four days per week (Mon-Thu) and remote Fridays. Work hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+, Spring Boot, React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, Kafka, and SQL.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., RDS, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB).
• Understanding AWS multi-region architectures for high availability.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain microservices with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, deploying to Kubernetes in the cloud.
• Frontend Development: Build responsive web apps using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS.
• System Thinking: Focus on maintainability, testability, and supportability in production.
• Design and Prototyping: Lead design and prototyping of solutions and set team standards.
• Telemetry and Monitoring: Implement monitoring to detect and address issues proactively.
• On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations for reliability.
• Collaboration: Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Delivery and Quality: Ensure valuable features and address architectural improvements.
