Job summary

CEI is seeking a talented Front End Developer to join our Washington, D.C. team. You will design, develop, and enhance modern web applications using React.js, building responsive, scalable frontend solutions and integrating with backend services.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, work on AWS cloud-native deployments, and contribute to AI-enabled frontend features, while adhering to best practices in CI/CD and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 2-4 years of software development experience, including strong frontend development expertise.
• Proven experience building and maintaining applications using: React.js, Node.js, Go, Python.
• Strong experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Hands-on experience with: Containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes; Serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and infrastructure automation practices.
• Experience incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents into frontend applications.
• Strong understanding of modern web architecture, SDLC methodologies, and performance optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications with a strong emphasis on React.js development.
• Build intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that provide exceptional user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend applications.
• Partner with backend developers to implement services using Node.js, Go, and Python.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities, including LLMs and autonomous agents, into frontend applications and workflows.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Implement and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services.
• Work with containerized environments and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, and infrastructure improvements.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and best practice initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support ongoing application enhancements.
