Job summary

Vanguard seeks an Offensive Security Analyst on the Web Application & Fraud Testing team to conduct threat-driven security testing of Vanguard's client-facing web applications. This role applies nascent adversarial TTPs to validate whether existing controls detect and prevent emerging fraud tradecraft.

Findings inform detection improvements and control remediation across the enterprise; the role mentors junior team members and partners with defensive teams to validate controls during exercises

Qualifications

• OSCP/OSWA/OSWE/CWES/GWAPT/PWPP or equivalent professional level web app testing certs required.
• CISSP preferred.
• Minimum of five years related work experience, with three years in threat analysis.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience.
• Experience testing controls and remediating findings from assessments.
• Experience assessing production web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute realistic scenarios that stress-test cyber fraud detection and response.
• Assess risk and business impact; apply defensible severity ratings and practical remediation guidance.
• Mentor junior team members to improve technical acumen.
• Apply adversarial tradecraft against client-facing web app infrastructure to improve controls.
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling; evaluate risks and provide recommendations.
• Provide written assessments focused on threats, vulnerabilities, and related technologies.
