Job summary

ManpowerGroup Global, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop and debug BMC firmware in an OpenBMC environment.

You will coordinate with architects, BIOS teams, vendors, and QA to deliver robust firmware solutions and participate in product bring-up and upstreaming to OpenBMC. Ideal candidates have 3–4 years of embedded firmware experience, strong systems background, and proficiency in C/C++, Shell, Python, and JavaScript, with knowledge of I2C/I3C/SPI/JTAG and Redfish/PLDM/MCTP.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Strong background in systems engineering and computer systems.
• Experience with BMC firmware development (Dell iDRAC, HP iLO) is preferred.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Shell scripting, Python, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of I2C, I3C, SPI, JTAG and familiarity with Redfish, PLDM, and MCTP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware for BMC within an OpenBMC environment.
• Coordinate with architects, BIOS developers, vendors, and QA to deliver robust firmware solutions.
• Participate in product bring-up, troubleshooting, and triage activities for seamless deployment.
• Contribute to upstreaming work to the OpenBMC community.
• Apply solid software methodologies and manageability design to ensure defect-free releases.
