Job summary

Location: East Hanover, NJ; Hybrid w/ 3 days onsite. The role is a 12-month contract through Magnit Global for Novartis, focusing on month-end close, financial reporting, and control activities.

The ideal candidate will partner with Group Finance, Shared services, Tax, and affiliates to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and timely insights. Requires CPA preferred, SAP S/4HANA experience, and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting, financial reporting, and controllership experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close, balance sheet review, and management reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet and P&L movements and prepare financial commentary explaining key variances and business drivers.
• Prepare and post manual journal entries, accruals, and cost cross-charge.
• Investigate and resolve intercompany and reporting discrepancies with internal stakeholders and affiliates.
• Prepare reporting packages and presentations for CFO and finance leadership reviews.
• Coordinate financial review and sign-off processes, including controls and compliance documentation.
• Execute key financial controls, including financial statement tie-outs, accrual completeness reviews, and close readiness checks.
