Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks a Financial Analyst II to deliver financial planning, budgeting, and analysis support for Customer Products & Services and Market Development units. You will partner with line managers to understand accounting issues, drive forecasting, and contribute to earnings through insightful analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
• At least two (2) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree.
• Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI).
• Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial planning, budgeting & analysis support for assigned organizations.
• Analyze variances, trends and plans; report findings to business partners.
• Contribute to month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and variance explanations.
• Support budget development, assumptions, timelines, and presentation materials.
• Coordinate and manage projects; identify process improvements; support executive reporting.
