Job summary

bp is seeking a Finance Performance Analyst in Chicago, IL, part of the Terminal & Pipelines Finance team. The role focuses on forecasting, analysis, and variance commentary for pipeline assets, coordinating with operations and midstream teams to improve forecast accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in finance, strong analytical skills, and experience with SAP or similar systems, with a preference for energy industry background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or related discipline.
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise financial systems.
• Experience in the energy industry with prior cost analyst experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor financial accounts and ensure accurate, complete reporting.
• Partner with FP&A to support financial transactions and analysis.
• Serve as the primary finance partner to Operations Leadership and overhead functions.
• Prepare and deliver variance analysis and commentary for results.
• Coordinate annual financial plans for pipeline operations.
• Lead quarterly Global Forecasting Outlook updates.
• Facilitate monthly performance reviews with Operations Leadership.
• Provide ad hoc financial analyses and insights.
