Job summary

First Citizens Bank offers a summer internship program in Morristown, NJ. This hybrid role combines on-site and remote work with a 40-hour work week, designed to build a pipeline for the Bank.

Interns will apply classroom knowledge to real-world financial reporting, collaborate across finance and technology, and gain hands-on experience with data visualization and analytics. A final project presentation to leadership concludes the program.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the summer program.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, or related fields.
• Strong communication and analytical skills preferred.
• Experience with data visualization and analytics tools is desirable.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end financial reporting processes with data validation and reconciliations.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools and data visualization platforms to analyze large datasets.
• Collaborate with Commercial Banking, Accounting, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams on projects.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and automation opportunities.
• Engage in professional development sessions and networking events.
• Work with a dedicated manager and program manager to navigate the internship.
• Be assigned a project to improve a specific process and present results at the end.
• Prepare a wrap-up presentation for division leadership outlining accomplishments.
• Contribute to research, analytics, strategy, and technology enhancements as needed.
• Attend informational sessions and community service events.
• Support diverse tasks across analytics and business challenges.
