Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an External Executive Communications Manager to support the CMCO. The role focuses on shaping the CMCO’s external voice, elevating HPE’s brand and market position through clear, high-impact engagements.

The ideal candidate brings senior communications experience, exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to work with senior leaders. Hybrid work with 2–3 days in an HPE office is expected, preferably in San Jose, CA or Spring, TX.

Qualifications

• Senior communications expertise and counseling clients and senior leaders directly.
• Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into a clear point of view with concise language for various audiences.
• Good judgement and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Excellent organizational skills and project management.
• Based in or willing to relocate to San Jose, CA (preference) or Spring, TX, with 2–3 days per week in an HPE office.
• Typically 7+ years of managing Executive communications.

Responsibilities

• Thought Leadership: Develop platforms aligned to CMCO priorities and translate strategy into differentiated viewpoints for customers, media, analysts, partners, and peers.
• External Visibility: Identify and secure opportunities to elevate CMCO's presence across events, media, speaking engagements, podcasts, and awards.
• Executive Content Development: Create speeches, talking points, and briefings reflecting CMCO's voice for various external audiences.
• Social Media: Lead CMCO's social media strategy to promote HPE's business and culture.
• Strategic Counsel: Advise CMCO on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.
• Reputation and Narrative Management: Ensure consistent external messaging across channels.
• Measurement and Optimization: Establish metrics to evaluate external communications and iterate.
