Job summary

The American Osteopathic Association is seeking a Strategic Communications Lead to drive executive messaging, thought leadership, stakeholder and affiliate communications, and crisis management. This hybrid role partners with senior leadership to translate priorities into compelling narratives across channels.

Responsibilities include leading executive communications, developing content, coordinating programs, and supporting media relations and reputation-building initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or strategic communications.
• Demonstrated experience leading communications and producing high-visibility content in complex or mission-driven organizations.
• Ability to translate complex subjects into clear, compelling messaging for general audiences on healthcare, policy, and programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive communications strategy and write speeches, remarks, presentations, op-eds, and messaging.
• Develop thought leadership content to elevate the voices of AOA leaders in healthcare and policy discussions.
• Coordinate affiliate and stakeholder communications to align with organizational goals.
• Maintain issues and crisis communications readiness with holding statements and FAQs.
• Oversee cross-channel content development with marketing, digital, and social teams.
• Establish KPIs and reporting to measure communications impact and inform leadership decisions.
