Job summary

New Mexico Legal Aid, the state’s largest provider of civil legal services for low-income New Mexicans, seeks a full-time estate planning paralegal to support the Volunteer Attorney Program (VAP). Based in Santa Fe or Albuquerque, the role will coordinate estate planning clinics and assist volunteer attorneys serving eligible clients across the state.

The position requires travel within the state, up to 20%, and proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in estate planning, with a minimum of 3 years' experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and recruit pro bono attorneys to serve low-income clients at estate planning clinics.
• Coordinate and market estate planning services at legal fairs and information sessions.
• Travel within New Mexico for clinics, including overnight stays (up to 15–20%).
• Input client information into NMLA's online case management system and assist with document drafting.
