Job summary

WM is seeking an Environmental Professional to administer and implement Environmental Protection programs in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The role requires coordinating with field operations, regulatory authorities, and management to ensure EP program compliance and training.

The position is hybrid in Michigan with travel to sites as needed, and involves leading EP team efforts and maintaining regulatory documentation and data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7 years of environmental protection related experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory environment as it applies to environmental protection and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and implements the Corporate EP program policies and strategies within assigned Market Area(s).
• Identifies regulatory impacts and works with authorities to negotiate action plans.
• Plans, organizes and secures related environmental permits and approvals.
• Develops and coordinates field EP testing, investigations, and guidance.
• Provides direction to consultants and staff on EP program implementation and maintenance.
• Ensures compliance with Special Waste Program requirements.
• Prepares and delivers EP training to staff.
• Maintains EP data tracking systems and reporting.
