Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Permitting Professional to support planning, permitting, and delivery of electric transmission projects in the United States. You will secure environmental approvals and ensure regulatory compliance across project phases, from routing through closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, planning, geology, or related field.
• Progressive experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations, permit conditions, and agency correspondence.
• Strong written and verbal communication; experience presenting to agencies or stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of complex environmental permit applications.
• Develop permitting strategies, schedules, and agency outreach plans.
• Coordinate consultants on environmental studies and field assessments.
• Manage agency comments, information requests, and permit revisions.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination among engineering, legal, and regulatory teams.
• Engage with regulators and external stakeholders in negotiations and technical discussions.
• Review technical work products for regulatory alignment and accuracy.
• Mentor junior analysts on permitting procedures and project delivery.
• Report permitting status, risks, and schedule impacts to leadership.
• Promote health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements in all activities.
