Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a Junior Environmental Permitting Analyst to support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for electric transmission projects. You will assist with routing, feasibility, and project delivery from planning through closeout, collaborating with engineering, regulatory, real estate, legal, and community stakeholders.
The role combines office coordination with periodic travel and fieldwork.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning or related field.
- 2–4 years in environmental consulting, regulatory, planning or infrastructure projects.
- Experience permitting, regulatory compliance, or environmental review.
- Ability to interpret regulations and permit conditions.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder coordination.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and conduct site visits.
Responsibilities
- Research environmental regulations and permitting pathways for project filings.
- Prepare, format, and review permit applications, maps, and agency submittals.
- Track schedules, compliance commitments, and project correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings, field activities, and consultant deliverables.
- Develop knowledge of transmission infrastructure and regulatory processes.
- Identify permitting risks and collaborate on practical solutions.
