Job summary
Carrier Global Corporation in Georgia is seeking an Embedded Java Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based firmware for Gen5 embedded systems. You’ll work in the Sustaining and Escalations Engineering team, focusing on the interaction between software and hardware to deliver reliable firmware.
The role requires Java proficiency and embedded systems knowledge, with collaboration across hardware and software teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems and Java.
- Must reside in Georgia and be able to attend on-site meetings as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based embedded firmware solutions for Gen5 hardware.
- Interact with low-level hardware components (sensors, actuators, protocols).
- Collaborate with hardware, systems engineering and support teams to ensure smooth integration.
- Ensure firmware meets timing and performance requirements.
- Write unit and functional tests using TDD and related tooling.
