Friendship Public Charter School Online (Friendship PCS Online) is a partnership between the Friendship Public Charter School and Stride K12, providing a virtual learning environment for students from kindergarten to grade 8. We offer a rigorous curriculum in various subjects, including world languages such as Spanish, German, French, Latin, and Chinese. Our students are supported by dedicated teachers and learn both online and in face-to-face sessions at our Nicholson Street Campus. We also organize family outings and field trips to enrich the student experience.

Application and Recruitment Timeline

Responsibilities
  1. Create a positive virtual classroom environment fostering high achievement and student ownership.
  2. Deliver daily lessons with clear outcomes, aligned assessments, and engaging, hands-on activities.
  3. Design a visually appealing classroom with resources and displays of student work.
  4. Communicate learning goals and progress to students and families.
  5. Collaborate with staff and participate in professional development and in-person activities as scheduled.
Special Education Inclusion Teacher Specifics
  • Support students in general education classes, primarily virtually, with periodic in-person support for testing, tutoring, and events.
  • Implement high-quality instruction tailored to diverse student needs, using data to inform instruction.
  • Maintain communication with families and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student success.
Legal and Environment Standards
  • Comply with federal and state special education laws, including IEPs and procedural safeguards.
  • Maintain high behavioral and academic expectations, fostering a safe and collaborative online environment.
Leadership and Organizational Skills
  • Reflect on practice for continuous improvement.
  • Engage in professional development and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Promote parent involvement and uphold high professional standards.

  • Valid content area certification or equivalent, such as Praxis II or a special education license.
