Job summary

CDM Smith in Vermont is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and deliver complex substation and industrial power systems, including master system plans, protection models, and renewable energy integrations. The position involves creating technical papers, contributing to knowledge management, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Create basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems.
• Conduct studies and electrical calculations for power systems, lighting simulations, layouts, alarms, security systems.
• Develop white papers and technical documentation to support knowledge management and publish designs in journals.
• Update design requirements as necessary.
• Attend conferences to improve visibility of firm products and services.
• Mentor junior team members through technical guidance and reviews.
