Job summary

Vermont Adult Learning in Burlington, VT is seeking an Educational Advisor to guide adult learners toward GED completion and career pathways. You will develop Individual Learning Plans with multilingual students, coordinate with local schools, and connect learners to community resources to achieve their goals.

The role requires strong English communication, teamwork, and the ability to work both independently and with staff.

Qualifications

• MA TESOL is preferred, but other appropriate ELL/ESOL/TESL certificates will be considered.
• Strong technology skills and ability to leverage these skills to enhance student learning.
• Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written English communication skills.
• Requires the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with BestPlus, CASAS, and TABE assessments is a plus.
• Commitment to racial equity and educational equity in practice.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality educational advising including regular communication and meetings with students.
• Develops learning plans addressing student needs and graduation requirements.
• Monitors and facilitates progress along Adult Learning Plans.
• Enrolls students in classes and coordinates educational options with staff.
• Maintains student records and documentation (LACES) timely and accurately.
• Administers baseline and progress assessments and reviews results with students.
