Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a District Planning Specialist in Santa Monica, CA to design and plan electrical distribution projects, develop construction plans, cost estimates, and engineering solutions for safe, reliable power delivery.

You will manage multiple projects end-to-end, collaborating with customers, engineers, and agencies to bring residential, commercial, and industrial projects to life while advancing clean energy and a sustainable future.

Qualifications

One or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Design, Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Line Construction, or Engineering discipline.
Valid Class C Driver's License.
Experience with CAD, GIS, and MS Office.
Experience in project coordination or customer service roles.
Planner Utility Certification Program.

Responsibilities

Develops construction plans, drawings, and circuit maps with cost estimates and adherence to policies and schedules.
Interacts with customers and engineers to meet design needs and deliver outcomes for SCE.
Manages small to medium-sized residential, commercial and industrial projects including scope and method of service decisions.
Provides technical support for licensing and certification proceedings related to distribution/transmission lines and substations.
Performs field inspections to verify planning and development compliance.
