Job summary

System One is seeking a Distribution Systems Test Engineer to support electric distribution operations across Texas. This contract role focuses on coordinating and executing point-to-point testing of field and substation devices, ensuring proper communication between equipment and control systems.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and field crews in a hybrid Lubbock environment, with hands-on exposure to SCADA and distribution management systems, and contribute to grid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of electric utility project experience.
• Knowledge of electric distribution systems.
• Experience coordinating testing activities and tracking progress.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute point-to-point testing of distribution and substation equipment.
• Schedule testing activities with field crews and operations.
• Verify communication between field devices and control systems.
• Track, document, and report testing progress and results.
• Use Excel, PowerApps, and other tools to manage testing records.
