Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Research Area Specialist Intermediate - Research Coordinator to coordinate multiple digital contingency management and digital health trials, focusing on AUD, OUD, SUD, and tobacco use populations. Work involves recruitment, IRB tasks, data management, and staff training within a collaborative team.

The role may support a Project Manager on larger studies and evolving responsibilities, including vendor coordination and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science directly related to the duties of the position.
• 4 to 5 years related experience.
• Experience working with Redcap, EnrollNow (Ripple), Qualtrics, MiChart, Data Direct, Microsoft Office.
• Experience in behavioral health research with human subjects.
• Experience working with participants with tobacco use, alcohol use disorders and/or other substance use.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the North Ann Arbor office for study-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates moderately complex human subjects clinical trials and quality improvement activities, independently or in support of Project Managers and other Research or Program Coordinators.
• Coordinates participant recruitment, retention, follow-up, study procedures, and troubleshooting.
• Leads or supports community engagement and coordinates communication with community partners, clinical partners, participants, funders, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinates IRB applications and amendments, study documentation, reporting, and quality assurance activities.
• Provides functional guidance and training to research assistants and other study staff on recruitment, follow-up, qualitative interviewing, and other study procedures; may assume formal supervisory responsibilities as the role evolves.
• Coordinates research purchasing and works with technology vendors to address study needs and troubleshoot systems.
