Job summary

Qualifications

• ADN required with grandfathering rule for long‑time employees.
• BSN preferred for hires after Sep 1, 2013; those without BSN must complete degree within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in MO or KS or RN Multistate License; MO/KS multistate license within 90 days of hire.
• Life Support Certifications required upon hire.
• NCBDE certification preferred.
• 3–5 years diabetes experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets the educational needs of the patient/family with diabetes mellitus using principles of teaching and learning.
• In collaboration with the healthcare team, uses nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family with diabetes mellitus.
• Collaborates with Level II diabetes educator (CDE) to provide resources for education and consultation.
• Participates in clinical research in the field of diabetes mellitus.
