Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a hybrid role supporting the NC Department of Administration IT team. You will integrate application development, SQL Server DB administration, and server operations across Azure and on-premise environments to ensure reliability and security.

The role requires 3–5 years in Windows Server and SQL Server administration, with Azure DevOps expertise. Hybrid schedule begins with two onsite days per week and increases to three days.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Windows Server administration experience.
• 3-5 years of SQL Server database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, migrations, certificates, service accounts, and multi-tier architectures.
• Ability to manage complex environments across Development, QA, Test, Train, and Production.
• Willingness to work directly with non-IT agency staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer ~15 enterprise servers across application, database, web, and file/print functions.
• Manage Azure-hosted Development/QA and DIT-hosted Production, Test, and Training environments.
• Support externally hosted application servers for the Mail Service Center.
• Oversee certificate management, service accounts, and security configurations for all servers.
• Support Windows Server upgrades and migrations (e.g., 2016→2019).
• Administer multiple SQL Server databases across Azure and DIT hosting environments.
• Maintain databases integral to agency applications (Mail Service Center, Motor Fleet, etc.).
• Serve as Azure DevOps administrator managing iterations, sprints, pipelines, and work items.
• Design, develop, and maintain ASP.NET web applications for multiple divisions.
• Support secure coding, deployment processes, and reliability in cloud and on-premise environments.
• Collaborate with non-IT staff to meet operational needs.
