Job summary

Olympus Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Detection Engineer to join our 24x7 Security Operations Center supporting a large federal civilian agency. You will translate threat intelligence and hunt findings into precise detections that reduce noise, so analysts focus on real threats.

This hybrid role offers Lanham, MD or Memphis, TN work locations with onsite work and telework approved by the customer. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; three additional years may substitute for the degree.
• Detection content engineering in an enterprise SIEM (SPL, KQL, Sigma, or similar).
• Python scripting for analytics and automation.
• SOAR playbook development.
• Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a federal suitability determination.

Responsibilities

• Detection Development: Develop, test, tune, and document custom detections, analytics, dashboards, and scripts.
• Automation and Maintenance: Build and maintain SOAR automation and response playbooks.
• Detection coverage: Map detection coverage to MITRE ATT&CK and close gaps identified through hunts, incidents, and threat intelligence.
