Job summary

Olympus Solutions, Inc. seeks a full-time SOC Engineer to support a 24x7 SOC for a large federal civilian agency. You will keep SOC tools running across on‑prem and cloud, integrating data sources and pipelines, and applying security patches within change control.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and a willingness to work a hybrid schedule in Lanham, MD or Memphis, TN. The position includes responsibilities in documentation, evaluation of new SOC technologies, and training government staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant security engineering or SOC operations experience.
• Hands-on engineering and administration of enterprise security tools (SIEM/EDR/IDS-IPS) in complex environments.
• Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration experience.
• Scripting for automation in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with formal change management processes and federal eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SOC tools and sensors across on‑prem and cloud.
• Integrate data sources and pipelines; keep log collection healthy and up to date.
• Apply patches and updates within change control timelines; report outages and lead recovery.
• Document designs, configurations, test plans, and hand‑off materials; train government staff.
