Job summary

Leatherology is seeking a Design & Product Development Coordinator to join our Carrollton studio. You will support the Creative Director, coordinating samples, calendars, and design specs to move products from concept to launch.

You’ll manage material libraries, vendor comms, and QC, ensuring every detail meets our premium aesthetic. You’ll collaborate closely with our Founder & Creative Director, learn our craft from inside, and contribute to a fast-moving design environment in a hybrid office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in product development, design, production, or project coordination.
• Strong design sensibility and Leatherology aesthetic. Portfolio or lookbook encouraged.
• Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with an obsessive eye for quality.
• Strong written communication; emails to a factory should be clear and actionable.
• Creative, self-motivated, positive, and eager to learn with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Figma or Photoshop; willing to leverage AI tools.
• Willingness to travel periodically, domestically or internationally, if needed.

Responsibilities

• Build a close, trusted working relationship with the Creative Director and align with the brand aesthetic.
• Research and compile design references for concept development and seasonal inspiration.
• Manage day-to-day sample coordination: ordering, tracking, and archiving samples.
• Help manage development calendar and follow up on deadlines.
• Assist with product development from concept to final confirmation and translate design intent into specs.
• Prepare and maintain spec sheets detailing leathers, hardware, dimensions, and finishes.
• Handle vendor correspondence and support production timelines with the Creative Director.
• Support product QC and integrate customer feedback to resolve issues.
• Organize leather and material libraries and maintain digital records like MDS and change logs.
• Keep standards for trim, hardware, packaging, and logos consistent.
