Job summary

BKF is a multi-service infrastructure firm seeking a Design Engineer for the California Bay Area. You will support land development projects from concept to construction documents, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and working with seasoned engineers to meet project milestones.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), 0–3 years of site development experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with public agency standards; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program
• 0–3 years of site development/design experience
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• EIT certification preferred
• Familiarity with public agency standards and permitting processes
• Ability to apply standard engineering techniques and judgment

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of site plans for residential, commercial, mixed-use, roadway, highway, and public works projects
• Prepare grading and drainage plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Create designs for land development including potable water and wastewater systems
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to project scheduling
• Support engineering reports, feasibility studies, and master planning documents
• Develop technical specifications and cost estimates for proposals and construction documents
• Coordinate design efforts with project engineers and stakeholders
• Review plans and calculations for accuracy and constructability
