Job summary

Thyssenkrupp Materials Services is seeking a Purchasing Planner to join the Supply Chain Planning team. The hybrid role supports Southfield, MI or Santa Fe Springs, CA, representing the supply side in monthly demand planning discussions and collaborating with Sales to shape a realistic demand plan.

The candidate should have 5+ years in demand planning or S&OP within distribution/manufacturing, strong ERP skills (SAP), and advanced Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in demand planning, S&OP, inventory management, or supply chain planning in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience translating demand forecasts into supply plans that balance service level and working capital targets.
• ERP literacy, SAP or comparable system.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups; Power BI a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the demand planning process by bringing supply-side elements that are critical for consensus forecast.
• Lead and drive improvement on demand planning processes and supply chain execution.
• Serve as a liaison between Purchasing, Operations, and Sales to align supply chain strategies with customer requirements.
• Deliver regular reporting on inventory status, sourcing metrics, and program KPIs.
• Manage both standard-stocked items and customer-specific programs.
