Job summary

Swoop Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer with a DC focus to secure and optimize our distributed infrastructure. You’ll apply STIGs, manage VPNs, and enforce access controls to support mission-critical workloads.

The role is hybrid, based in DC with in-office collaboration 3+ days per week. You’ll work with Cisco Firepower FMC/ISE, IOS-XE, and firewall policies to keep the network fast, resilient, and compliant.

Qualifications

• CCNA and Security+ certifications required.
• Experience implementing STIGs on network devices.
• Experience with FMC, ISE, and IOS-XE.
• Strong firewall policy, monitoring, updates, and NAT experience.
• Experience writing and maintaining L3 ACLs.
• ISE policy writing, 802.1x/MAB troubleshooting, posture control, and administration.
• Deep TCP/IP knowledge, Layer 2 tech (STP, EtherChannel, Trunking), and routing (OSPF/BGP).
• VPN configuration including Site-to-Site IPsec and Cisco Secure Client.
• Packet capture and ACL-based troubleshooting.
• Industry-standard network security practices.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco network infrastructure for secure connectivity.
• Implement and manage security policies with FMC/ISE, including 802.1x authentication.
• Apply STIGs across devices to ensure compliance.
• Monitor performance; analyze logs and captures to resolve issues.
• Design and support VPN connectivity, including Site-to-Site IPsec.
