Job summary

HAVI is seeking an Associate Data Scientist in Chicago to apply cutting-edge analytics, including AI/ML/GenAI and optimization, to solve complex supply chain problems. You will build predictive and prescriptive models and partner with stakeholders to deliver transformative insights.

The role combines deep analytic expertise with strong communication, serving as a thought leader in data science applications to supply chain strategy and integrated planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in operations research, mathematics, statistics, engineering or closely related field; PhD preferred.
• 1+ years of data analytics, BI and/or insight experience, or relevant fields with a Bachelor’s degree and with a strong focus on predictive modeling in supply chain.
• Proven track record of identifying and developing business relevant solutions and influencing executive decision making.
• Expertise in analytic tools and methodologies such as optimization, simulation, forecasting, machine learning, artificial intelligence.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Databricks, AI and GenAI, prompt engineering, and Azure or equivalent cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with food service, restaurant operations, demand planning, supply planning, distribution and logistics a plus.
• Good communication skills and presence, with experience presenting to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop prescriptive and predictive analytics initiatives that enhance supply chain performance.
• Develop and evangelize innovative modeling approaches using ML, simulation and optimization.
• Support thought leadership by identifying emerging trends and technologies.
• Influence stakeholders with data-driven recommendations and business impact.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align analytics solutions with business priorities globally.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence.
• Design and implement scalable analytics frameworks and tools for long-term transformation.
• Drive thought leadership in AI/ML/Optimization and related advancements.
• Act as a trusted advisor on machine learning; mentor team members on problem formulation and data prep.
