Job summary

Lyft is seeking a data scientist to partner with engineers, PMs, and designers to frame problems and perform explorations that guide product decisions. The role involves collaborating to implement analytics, designing experiments, and interpreting results to drive launches.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Physics or Data Science and has 2 years of relevant experience in analytics, statistics, and data pipelines. This position is in-office on a hybrid schedule in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Data Science, or related field.
• 2 years of experience in job offered, operations research, or related occupation.
• Experience creating metrics, analytical dashboards, and tools to track and monitor growth.
• Experience with statistics, business forecast and estimates, and authoring datapipelines.
• Experience with writing production queries and experiment design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineers, Product Managers, Product Designers, and Business teams to frame problems.
• Frame problems mathematically and within business context.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand problems.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to implement analytics in production.
• Design and run simulated and live traffic experiments.
• Analyze data, communicate findings, and inform launch decisions.
