Job summary

PG&E is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design and support modern data infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and AzureLocal. The role covers data pipelines, data structures, AI integration, and automation through Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.

You will work in a hybrid setup, with 1–2 days weekly at the Oakland Headquarters, contributing to secure, scalable enterprise platforms and data workflows for analytics, AI, and machine learning workloads.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
2 years of infrastructure experience, cloud operations, or related IT functions.
1 year of experience supporting cloud technologies, cloud services, or automation.
AWS or Azure cloud certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Build, test, and deploy data solutions and pipelines for relational databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
Implement data integrity, data cleansing, and retention processes.
Create data objects within cloud storage services.
Troubleshoot and maintain database-related software components.
Analyze data to support reliability and performance optimization.
Collaborate with application teams to resolve data inconsistencies.
Support data quality controls, validation, and automated reporting.
Develop IaC modules for databases, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and replication.
Plan migrations from legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures.
