Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Full Stack Data Engineer for a hybrid role in Dearborn, MI. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, DBT/Dataform, and GCP services such as BigQuery and Dataflow.

You will implement data governance and IaC practices to ensure secure, high-quality data flows. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and extensive experience with Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, OpenShift, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow, plus experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• 7 years of progressive experience in data engineering or related role.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot for streaming/processing vehicle data.
• Experience with real-time streaming: Kafka, PubSub, OpenShift, Data Flow / Cloud Run.
• Experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions.
• Experience with data governance, IaC (Terraform) and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data ingestion and curation pipelines.
• Build data pipelines using Python, SQL, DBT/Dataform.
• Leverage GCP services to manage data platforms and ensure data quality.
• Implement data governance, access controls, and security practices.
• Automate data platform processes to improve reliability and reduce manual work.
