Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Start-Up/Commissioning Specialist to join our Data Center team. You will develop start-up and commissioning plans and execute documents for electrical systems, utility systems, and equipment across hyperscale data centers and enterprise operators.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to industry best practices, energized commissioning, and coordination with OEMs and construction teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience in the data center industry or mission-critical facilities
Understanding of data center electrical systems and power reliability requirements
Understanding of industry standards and best practices for electrical commissioning
Flexibility and willingness to travel and work at various clients' locations.

Responsibilities

Assist with project Start-Up and Commissioning Plan and execution strategies.
Assist with system Start-Up and Commissioning Plans for all electrical systems.
Assist with generating and executing Start-Up and Commissioning documents according to industry best practices.
Assist with startup of electrical equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Coordinate with OEM Service technicians and construction management as needed.
Apply engineering knowledge of medium voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and related components.
