Job summary

Sheer Science is seeking a Data Analyst to support data quality, reporting accuracy, and analytics across the business. The role owns recurring validation, investigates discrepancies, and assists with dashboards and data models.

Ideal candidates bring strong SQL, Power BI, and data documentation skills, plus basic Python. Hybrid work requires commuting to Melville, NY or Boca Raton, FL offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of professional data analysis experience.
• Strong SQL fundamentals.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts.
• Basic Python skills and Jupyter Notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring data validation and quality checks across reporting datasets, pipelines, and source systems.
• Investigate discrepancies between source systems, warehouse tables, and Power BI/reporting outputs.
• Perform routine SQL analysis and troubleshooting, including joins, aggregations, reconciliation queries, duplicate detection, and missing record investigations.
• Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports and semantic models.
• Handle stakeholder requests for recurring reports, extracts, segmentation, and ad hoc analysis.
• Document business logic, table definitions, pipeline dependencies, and reporting rules.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting on failed Azure/Synapse pipelines before escalating deeper engineering issues.
• Maintain data dictionaries and lightweight lineage documentation.
• Support QA for new datasets, dashboards, and pipeline changes before production deployment.
