Job summary

Midwest Radiology is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to manage credentialing, recredentialing and privileging for all medical providers. You will maintain up-to-date provider data, ensure accurate credentialing applications, and support timely license and certification renewals.

The role requires organizing records, communicating with providers, and coordinating with hospitals and health plans while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
• 2 years of credentialing or similar medical business office experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet resources.
• Demonstrate strong computer and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain current and accurate data for all provider credentialing records.
• Maintain licenses, certification, health records, and CMEs for providers.
• Complete provider initial and reappointment applications; monitor follow-ups as needed.
• Review credentialing applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with providers to collect up-to-date information for credentialing.
• Perform verifications of credentialing records.
• Assist hospitals and health plans with information needed to maintain provider credentialing files.
• Respond to telephone and email in a timely manner.
• Ensure security and confidentiality of credentialing records.
• Work closely with the credentialing manager to resolve issues related to provider credentialing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
