Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Cost Accountant to own the cost accounting close, standard costing, and inventory valuation processes. You will work with Supply Chain, Production, Program Management, and IT to improve financial controls and reporting accuracy for COGS and inventory.

The role requires 4–6 years in cost/inventory accounting, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4–6 years of progressive cost/inventory/manufacturing accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups
• Experience owning journal entries, reconciliations, and close workpapers
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own cost accounting close workstreams end-to-end, establish priorities and resolve issues
• Prepare and post journal entries for close areas including accruals and reclassifications
• Own sub-ledger to GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Define close schedules, checklists, controls and supporting workpapers
• Identify discrepancies between operational activity and financial reporting
