Job summary

Compeer Financial invites a communications intern to join our corporate communications team. You will support internal communications for agriculture and rural communities, with a hybrid schedule and an hourly pay model.

This paid internship runs Oct 2026–May 2027 and requires 15+ hours per week at the Mankato office or remotely up to 50% of the time. The role develops skills in content creation, intranet articles, planning support, slide development, metrics gathering, and multimedia shoots,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or Marketing.
• Strong initiative and resourcefulness with minimal guidance.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in photo editing, video production and/or graphic design preferred.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Update editorial calendars and develop content for digital message boards.
• Research and draft articles for intranet.
• Assist team with executing communication plans.
• Develop PowerPoint slides for presentations.
• Gather metrics and update reports.
• Summarize large group meetings from transcripts and recordings.
• Assist with photo and video shoots as needed.
• Attend team meetings and cross-functional workgroups.
