Job summary

University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) is seeking an experienced Controller to join the Sacramento State ecosystem in a hybrid role.

Reporting to the Finance Director/CFO, you will lead UEI’s Business Services and oversee accounting, budgeting, audits, and financial planning for a broad portfolio within the university system. You will manage a team of Accounting Manager, AP Supervisor, and AR Supervisor, translating complex financial data into actionable business decisions with partners across UEI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressively responsible accounting and financial management experience.
• Nonprofit accounting experience including gifts, grants, contracts.
• Experience producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including forecasts.
• Experience directing development of complex financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee UEI’s Business Services Department and financial reporting infrastructure.
• Provide coaching, supervision, and professional development for the Business Services team.
• Partner with CFO and leaders on financial planning, forecasting, cash flow, investments, and restricted funds.
• Oversee quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure GAAP/GASB compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and tax return schedules.
• Lead annual budget development and financial presentations.
